Message: With an 11, almost 12 year old ridgeback, I decided it was time to start looking into breeders again. There sure weren't NEAR this many when I signed up 12 years ago! I am 34 years old and my buddy has been my hardy traveling companion for his entire life. I would bet that he has been on more trails, through more oil changes, and been to more social gatherings than just about any dog out there. He has always lived up to the high ridgeback standards though of: 1. being a true counter surfer (he has indulged on many loaves of bread in many peoples house over the years), 2. a creature of comfort (he would rather lay on a dish towel than on the floor, we've tested him a time or two), and 3. an independent thinker, (he has shown "selective h

Message: Great website. My wife and I recently had to put our ridgeback down because of liver cancer. We couldn't have asked for a better companion over the last 8 years. Ridgebacks are beyond affectionate, extremely loyal and exceptionally intelligent (this can be a challenge).If you are the type of person who cannot spend time with your animal and give it the attention it deserves, get a cat.
